Coach Krystin

I tried desperately to DIY my relationship woes. I had no idea that it was one of those cases that I should turn to an expert.

Kind of like a plumber.

More problems came when I sought "professional help" from our couples' counselor. I felt judged, like both he and her had teamed up against me, and was left without a clear plan of action forward. Again, I felt alone in my fight for our marriage.

When I finally got coaching, I found peace and the relief that I needed. I see now that I needed that stepping stone of resources, that opportunity to test out every other theory, until I found the courage via desperation to find a coach. My coach had been in a troubled marriage, had worked to overcome it, and had found incredible results. She didn't keep her personal life private - she shared it with me. I was able to learn how to get through the situations with the skills, from Laura Doyle, that she taught.

We all need a place to start. Here's a list of resources that I relied heavily on in my bad old days.

FREE: Your library or another prepaid service, like Audible, may have these books. I highly recommend getting the newest.

FREE Content: Laura Doyle has multiple resources. Here's a few of my favorites:

Self Care Options

FREE: Many of these are options out of items you already have at home, so I've listed them as free.

  • Coffee. I've been using decaf for the most part this last year for fertility and anxiety. Something about the deep flavor of a plain cup just makes me feel ready for the day. Or the rest of the afternoon.

  • Candles. I love making my own with soy wax and essential oils, where it doubles as a hand balm. But, my current favorite is this Woodwick in Humidor, which I splurged on and bought the giant one. It mimics the sound of a fire, which is great for some ambiance!

P.S. Up the luxury level at home by lighting them in clusters, like the pic above!

  • Bath bombs. I hated baths - they were boring and seemed so inefficient. But when I spiced them up... a little music, candles, bath bombs and bubbles... I fell in love with the luxuriousness. I buy huge kits to save AND have even created my own using citric acid! Here's a recipe from Happy Mothering.

  • Work it out. Go for a walk, put on your happy playlist. I walk the dogs - they are so excited for the outings that it brings me joy.

  • Happy playlist. If you don't have one yet, make one!

  • Journal. Get all those thoughts out. I'm very specific to using my iPad Pro and its Pencil, or gel pens and some cheap paper! Or the back of bills and paper trash... just to have a good brain dump.
